Haus Rothenberg
Nahe | Langenloisheim
Haus Rothenberg is a new wine line built on deep roots. In 2024, Julia and Georg Rumpf acquired 10 hectares from the storied Sitzius estate in Langenlonsheim. Most vines were planted in the 1980s and 1990s and now produce wines of depth and expression from naturally low yields. The vineyards sit on limestone, gravel, and red sandstone with clay and loess topsoils. All sites are farmed organically and are in conversion toward certification. Georg handles vineyard and cellar; Julia shapes identity, language, and direction. Their philosophy: healthy soils, balanced vines, minimal intervention.
Haus Rothenberg Riesling Trocken 2024
The grapes for this Riesling come from the renowned Langenlonsheim
sites Königsschild and Löhrer Berg, two sun - exposed vineyards known for
their expressiveness and mineral character. In the glass, the wine shows a
clear, brilliant lemon - yellow color.
On the nose, the Riesling presents a precise and focused bouquet of
citrus fruits, green apple, white peach and a hint of fresh herbs. Subtle
floral notes and an underlying mineral tone complete the aromatic profile.
On the palate, it impresses with a gentle, well - balanced acidity structure
that is typical of its origin and at the same time creates excellent
drinkability and flow.
