Haus Rothenberg
Nahe | Langenloisheim
Haus Rothenberg is a new wine line built on deep roots. In 2024, Julia and Georg Rumpf acquired 10 hectares from the storied Sitzius estate in Langenlonsheim. Most vines were planted in the 1980s and 1990s and now produce wines of depth and expression from naturally low yields. The vineyards sit on limestone, gravel, and red sandstone with clay and loess topsoils. All sites are farmed organically and are in conversion toward certification. Georg handles vineyard and cellar; Julia shapes identity, language, and direction. Their philosophy: healthy soils, balanced vines, minimal intervention.
Haus Rothenberg Rothenberg Riesling Trocken 2024
This Riesling comes f rom the distinctive single vineyard site
Langenlonsheimer Rothenberg in the Nahe. The vines grow on quartzite
and red sandstone soils, which give the wine its clear mineral character
and fine, spicy edge. The combination of mineral - rich subsoils, optimal
sun exposure and cool nights ensures slow ripening and results in a
precise, fresh aromatic profile.
In the glass, the Rothenberg Riesling 2024 shows a bright lemon - yellow
color. On the nose, notes of green apple, citrus fruits and juicy peach
come together, accompanied by a delicate, stony minerality. On the
palate, the wine is fresh, vibrant and precise , with a clear, well - integrated
acidity and an energetic flow that is typical of this site.
The finish is taut and elegant, with a long, mineral - driven aftertaste. A
Riesling with character and finesse that beautifully reflects its origin in the
Rothenberg.
